This particular example was finished in British Racing Green which really sets the car off well with its 12 inch Revolution alloy wheels. This car has completed a mileage of 87, and appears to have been well cared for and has even been the subject of a Cooper World magazine article. The Cabriolet is equipped with the same cc single port fuel injection that the Mini Cooper was issued with meaning the car has plenty of power for wind in your hair motoring. The body work remains in excellent condition albeit with the odd blemish but as the photographs will demonstrate the car presents very well indeed.
The interior is still in good order and the Recaro style seats remain in good condition with no rips or tears. The hood has a slight tear in the outer skin on one side but is otherwise generally in good condition. It is a similar story for the underneath which is also in superb condition having been heavily waxoyled and well preserved. There are no repairs and the floor pans are as they should be. The interior is also excellent with new carpets having been fitted recently.
The car was fitted with a reconditioned gearbox in and a new clutch. The body is in excellent condition with just minor paintwork blemishes. The underside is also in excellent condition. Mechanically the car has had money spent whenever it has needed it and a good example is in when the engine was removed from the car to address any oil leaks and fit new seals and gaskets where needed.
The car is now dry underneath with no leaks. At the same time other work was carried out such as resurfacing the flywheel and fitting new ring gear and refurbishing the clutch assembly. Regular servicing has been undertaken which is all documented on file.
There is a thick folder detailing the work carried out over the years. The car starts on the button and sounds great. It is nicely set up and drives very well indeed which reflects the care it has received in recent years. This lovely MG TF comes with excellent provenance having had only four custodians, two of whom are from the same family. The car started life as a 17th birthday present to the first owner who retained the car from to It was then kept by the second owner for 2 years before being sold to the family of the current custodian.
The mileage shows as 54, which is believed genuine and the fact that the original seats have survived largely in tact demonstrates this along with the known provenance of the car which we have on file. The restoration also importantly included a new wiring loom and anything that needed to be refurbished was done so.
In recent months the temperature gauge capillary tube has been replaced and everything on the car works as it should. We have lots of photographs on file showing the extensive restoration which was carried out. The paint even now still looks fresh and the chrome also remains in good order.
The car still has its original wet weather gear which remains in good condition. The original seats are showing their age, but remain in quite good order and we feel should not be restored as it really adds to the character of the car. The engine has not been restored and is low mileage for a car of this age. The engine runs well with no issues, it does not smoke and pulls well through the gears. Overall, this is a very nicely restored example of a TF which has been well maintained and should deliver many years of trouble free motoring if looked after.

The car has completed very little mileage in recent decades and has been in storage for the last 10 years until its recent recommissioning. The total mileage showing is believed correct at 54, miles although we do not have sufficient MOT history to warrant this. What we do know is that the car received an Ivor Searle reconditioned engine in and this engine has completed only miles which makes this a very low mileage car. In the car was also subject to a total body restoration which included new panels where required including two new front wings and a complete respray.
The interior was also re-trimmed during the restoration and as the photographs will show the interior is superb, showing little wear and looking very fresh. The recent recommissioning process has included a new battery, new fuel pump, new clutch slave cylinder and a new alternator. A fresh MOT has been issued which is advisory free.
The car continues to present very well with the odd paint blemish, but otherwise in very good order. The underside is clean and in good condition.
